Transaction fee
We charge a small percentage on top of Stripe's standard fees. On a €50 tab that's 25 cents (Starter), 15 cents (Growth), or zero (Pro). The fee covers payment routing, fraud handling, and the Apple Pay / MobilePay infrastructure.
Hardware
Pisteo runs on any tablet, phone, or computer with a modern browser — yours, your staff's, or a cheap Android tablet from any electronics store. We don't sell hardware. The Support pages walk you through enabling kiosk mode on iPad and Android.

Do guests need to install an app? ⌄
No. They scan the QR code at the table and the menu opens in the phone's browser.
What payment methods are supported? ⌄
Apple Pay, Google Pay, MobilePay, and all major cards. Powered by Stripe Connect Express.
How does this fit my existing terminal, cash flow, and accountant? ⌄
Cleanly. Stripe payments land directly in your own Stripe balance, not ours. Pisteo never holds the money. Payments your staff still take at the bar (terminal or cash) stay in the same flow they do today — Pisteo just records the tab as paid. At month end you get one CSV that combines both, split per line item with the correct Finnish VAT (14% on food, non-alcoholic drinks, and takeaway; 25.5% on alcohol). Drop it into Procountor, Netvisor, or Talenom. Every guest receipt shows the VAT split too.
What kitchen hardware do I need? ⌄
Whatever you already have. An existing ESC/POS thermal printer (Epson, Star, Bixolon) plugs in and works. An existing iPad or Android tablet runs our web-based KDS in the browser. Pisteo doesn't sell hardware — buy whatever you need from any electronics store.
Can I turn off in-app payment? ⌄
Yes. Admin controls payment mode: Required, Preferred (default), or Off. If Off, guests order in the app and pay the waiter as usual.
Will it work with my kitchen printer? ⌄
If it speaks ESC/POS and is on your network, yes. That covers almost every thermal printer in use.
How fast is onboarding? ⌄
Most restaurants are live in under an hour. Menu import is the slowest step, and the import tool handles most of it.
What languages do you support? ⌄
Finnish and English natively. Swedish and others via auto-translation. Guests pick their language in the menu.
Who owns the guest data? ⌄
You do. Opt-in emails live in your marketing module. We do not sell or share them.
What happens if Wi-Fi drops? ⌄
Open tabs are stored. Orders queue locally and print when the printer reconnects.
Is there a setup fee? ⌄
No. 14-day free trial, no card required to start.
Can I cancel? ⌄
Yes — monthly plans cancel at the end of the cycle. Annual plans are non-refundable but transferable.
